ABC Preparatory is a licensed and family-owned daycare facility located in the heart of Alpine, UT. Founded by Melissa Heaton, a passionate educator with over two decades of experience in directing daycares and preschools, our center is built on a foundation of love, community, and a deep understanding of child development. After moving from California, Melissa brought her expertise and passion for early childhood education to Utah, establishing ABC Preparatory in September 2017. Since then, we have been dedicated to providing a safe, fun, and educational environment where children can thrive.
Melissa Heaton
With 25 years of experience in childcare, Melissa Heaton has dedicated her life to supporting children as they grow and learn. She has a natural gift for connecting with kids, making them feel safe, valued, and encouraged. Her greatest passion is investing her time into helping children reach their fullest potential, and she treats every child with the same care and attention she would give her own. Families know her not only for her experience, but for her warmth, patience, and genuine love for children.
Shelby Oakes
Shelby Oakes currently lives in Alpine, UT. She recently had her first baby, Conley Anne, with her husband Weylin. Shelby is passionate about service, music, fashion, and a low carb lifestyle! She has the innate ability to empathize with others, and has the talent to find the resources to assist people of all walks of life.She loves children and enjoys helping them develop interpersonal, early motor, and cognitive skills.
Allison Titus
Allison has been part of the daycare for 7 months. She enjoys running and playing with the kids outside, as well as reading stories with them. She loves being part of their learning and growth each day.
Emily Rasmussen
Working at ABC Preparatory this past year has been such a gift. I love watching the kids grow and develop new skills. Circle time is one of my favorite parts of the day, especially sharing stories and learning new songs together. It’s been wonderful getting to know each child and being someone they can feel comfortable with. I look forward to building a connection with you and your child.
Kassi Harris
Growing up in a big family, I’ve always loved helping children feel safe, cared for, and supported. I spent two summers as a nanny, where I enjoyed playing with the kids and learning alongside them. I love singing, reading, and connecting with children through our shared interests in animals and books.
Alivia Murie
Alivia has been part of ABC for the past 3 years. She enjoys having dance parties, painting, and doing fun crafts with the kids. She loves cheering them on as they learn new things and reach milestones. One of her favorite parts of the job is helping with preschool and encouraging the kids as they build skills to prepare for kindergarten.
